Job Title: Environmental Services Technician
Location: Boonton, NJ
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: M-F, 9AM-5:30PM
Assignment Type: 4-Month Contract-to-Direct
Position Summary
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant facility. This role supports overall sanitation efforts, performs routine cleaning and upkeep, and assists with maintaining production areas to ensure a high standard of cleanliness across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Empty trash and waste receptacles throughout the facility
- Sweep, mop, and maintain all flooring surfaces
- Clean, dust, and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and common areas
- Distribute cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials to departments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of janitorial equipment and workspaces
- Respond to facility upkeep and sanitation requests in a timely manner
- Support production areas with sanitation needs as required
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Work flexible shifts as needed to support business operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred (1+ year)
- Must be 21+
- Ability to pass a background check & pay the $70 fee
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Reliable with strong work ethic and time management skills
Work Environment
- Facility environment includes exposure to plant matter, dust, and pollen
- Temperatures may vary from cool to warm with high humidity levels
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals such as bleach and other sanitizing agents
- May involve repetitive motions and physically demanding tasks
- PPE is required; optional eye and ear protection available
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals while following strict safety guidelines
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including non-slip, closed-toe shoes
